Just Announced: EMI Music Pub, Jonsin, Universal Republic, Aware Records and more

-- EMI Music Publishing has extended its co-publishing agreement with Grammy award-winning songwriter and producer Jim Jonsin. As a result Jonsin's existing catalog and future songs will be represented by EMI Music Publishing?s network of offices around the world. Jonsin has worked with Lil Wayne, Beyonce, T.I., Souljaboy Tell Em, Usher and Jamie Foxx, and is currently busy in the studio with a series of artists including Kid Cudi, Kelly Rowland, Cypress Hill, Jennifer Lopez, Eminem and Nelly, according to EMI Music Publishing.

-- Universal Republic announced it has entered in to a deal with indie label Aware Records. Current Aware signees Guster will release the first album under the deal; Mat Keraney, also currently signed to Aware, will release an album under the partnership in 2011. Aware was founded by Greg Latterman in 1993 and released ealry compilations featuring Hootie And The Blowfish, Matchbox 20, and Better Than Ezra. Aware has also released music by Train, Five For Fighting and John Mayer. The label also has a touring venture, Aware Tours, and served as the exclusive retailer for the H.O.R.D.E tours of the mid-90s.

-- The Harry Fox Agency, Inc. has extended the capabilities of Songfile, its online mechanical licensing service, to handle interactive streams licensing too. Customers who wish to stream cover songs on their websites will be able to obtain licenses for $0.01 per stream. Licenses are available for a minimum of 100 streams to a maximum of 10,000 streams per song. Customers may pay via credit card or electronic check payment. Songfile, which has over 70,000 registered users, already handles cover versions song licensing for CDs, permanent digital downloads, and ringtones.
